You know, as I read through Masters of Doom, I always thought that John Carmack came off as kind of a douche. It wasn’t until about halfway through the book that I started understanding that he really knew what he was doing, more so than any of the others on his team. Yeah, he came across as a jerk through a lot of the book, and it is hard to know anything about him on a personal level no matter how much material I read about the guy.
One thing, though, the dude never seems to BS his way through anything.
